Well done, gentlemen!! I was looking for a lighter, smaller bike for the wife (she currently rides a HD Hugger) and have been looking at the RE’s on line. Being a compulsive tinkerer, I was making a list of carb, ignition and engine parts within the hour. This racer you have put together is truly outstanding and I salute your tenacity and skill. I may have to get an RE for the wife and start the mild hop up process. What else is there to do with a garage, tools and the need to turn wrenches? Cheers, EC Black

Please take a minute to check out our website, royalenfieldspeed.org. I think you’ll be pleased to see the latest creation from the builders of “the worlds most exotic Enfield”. I’m having a great time writing articles about our adventure and where it is taking us.

HI Dyno Dan here , when writing the story on the bonneville bullet feel free to contact me so I can recognize all the team members and give a first hand account of how we did it. There is no I in team and the team built the roadracer and has now successfully built the bonneville bullet. We will be racing at the salt flats on September 2nd and we hope to make a good show. Thanks again from the DRS TEAM!! Thanks again to all of our supporters!

Dan Holmes is truly correct in stating that the bikes are a TEAM effort. This article looks all the world like I (Phil Myers) had done all the work and that’s not how they have come to be. The engines (the single most time consuming components) have been built by Glen Kyle from Goshen IN. Glen has been on board from the beginning and our success wouldnt be possible without him. My part was to machine new lighter bits and to help put the package together to create a light weight and more rigid bike. I’m pretty sure all of us on the team have had the bike stripped and re-built at one time or another and have all played a part in the reliability. Sometimes the story gets all the way into press without all the details. Anyway the road racer is way cool and a championship winner. Now you should take the time to check out the Bonniville project at bonnevillebullet.org. This site also has a pretty good look into the extent of our team, particularly the salt flat team. If you dig through the pictures and progression you’ll quickly get the real story and some history on why we went after such lofty goals. Enjoy. Phil

Dear DRS: So now that the valves/other are “sorted”, how much is a “kit” to refurb OUR piddly-arse Enfields? couldn’t you ceramic-coat the interior of the exhaust to lose the blue (–the ONLY “nit” I can see)? Beyond awesome, I hope you “tarnish” all those Goldies and bring home the Silver.
