Wow. That really looks cool. Wish Enfield of Indiamade their bike like that. Would sell well I think.

You know I certainly hope Royal Enfield (as Enfield India is now known), can put the Super Bullet into production. Can we petition them to do so? Tell all your friends about this blog post and write down your comments right here! Thanks to economies of scale, I’m sure Royal Enfield can make a Super Bullet and a Super Bullet R with the more exotic components. Just pay Fritz Egli a royalty on each unit sold and I’m sure he’ll support this project 100%!

As an Australian 500cc Bullet owner, I am finding the Bullet pretty slow on our roads here, which carry much faster traffic. Riding in India was fine with the old 350, at 60-80kph, but a much more powerful bike is needed to sell Enfield in Western countries.

Perhaps Royal Enfield should invest in, or develop a parallel twin like the new Triumph Bonneville and new Kawasaki W650? If it’s cheaper why not just build the new Triumph engine under licence?

Enfield is missing the boat time and time again. If they really want to break into the American market (read: big sales), an underpowered, basically 60 year old single is not the way to do it. The Egli Bullet is one definite improvement. The Carberry Enfield V-Twin is another. And it’s one that all of the engineering, for the most part, has been DONE on. The design was practically handed to them, and they sat on their hands and did nothing. I understand they have a relatively large market in India and SE Asia, and a bit of the nostalgia market in Britain. But damn… they’re looking to the future in much the same way the British motorcycle industry did. And we all know what happened there.

Your post makes sense. Perhaps they should take a look at how John Bloor resurrected Triumph Motorcycles.

Sorry to bother everyone. My name is jeff eagar (www.whichwayto.tv) and I am trying to get my royal Enfield (1968) that I bought in India and shipped to tokyo registered here in japan. It is a tough job!
Amongst a huge list of things, they also want the words ‘Royal Enfield’ written out somewhere in Hindi! Do you have any letterhead, or know of any websites where the words ‘Royal Enfield’ are written in hindi?
Thanks
JEFF

Hi Jeff,
I can help you with scripting “Royal Enfield” in Hindi. Just let me know if you still need it.

Egli ENFIELD, YES! –$40K USD?–Nein! An Absurd price, as I could do one that looks similar for 10-15K, new/used. Fritz would do some “for fun”, but he doesn’t want to do too many, imo, because he’d rather sell Egli-vincents & Egli-Hogs (Harleys)–equally AWESOME bikes, and probably more profitable. Egli IS a GENIUS, however, and he could probably make a dog turd look “good”, AND some fool would buy it, at a “fair”(high) price! The Royal-Enfield Twins were oil-tight and competant at the last, so with a 60-degree crank and better bearings, lighter metal (aluminum head), WITH isolastics, (for those of us who can’t abide “vertical-twin vibes (–at speed-plus))”. Indian Enfield could give Triumph a run for its pounds/euros. The bullet-based Carberry & Musket-twins are good, too.

You’ve gotta’ like the frame and forks and wheels, but instead of overboring and fiddling with valve timing, why not just supercharge it.
I’ve often thought that with the RE’s mild timing, it would be a natural for a supercharger.
