Don’t try this at home!

“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, the latest and 4th Indiana Jones movie to hit the big screens is now running in cinemas. The movie stars Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, Shia LaBeouf AND … Harley-Davidson!! Apparently H-D modified five 2007 Harley-Davidson Softail Springer Classics to look 50ish and supplied them for the movie. Bike fans will spot the front disc brake during the chase scenes, where the bike is used by Mutt Williams (LeBouf), a Harley-riding greaser and Indy (Ford) to escape KGB baddies. The chase scene culminates in the bike sliding across floors in a library, which was filmed at Yale. The fun doesn’t stop there as the bike is then transported by air to Peru where Indy and Mutt continue their adventures. Harley-Davidson will display two of the Indiana Jones Softails at the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Museum, in Milwaukee from July 12th.

Yamaha Motor UK is proud to, once again, sponsor Dave Coates – Stunt Rider extreme! Dave, pictured standing on the right, from Darlington, has just take delivery of his new Yamaha FZ1 and YZF-R1, from Stockton Yamaha dealer Tillston Motorcycles. Gary Jordinson (standing left) from the dealership was pleased to hand over the machines on behalf of YMUK.

Dave’s stunt show is one of the best in the business, performing crowd pleasing stunts including wheelies, backwards riding and skiing off the back of the machine. His main aim is to entertain – he is a real showman. ‘I really enjoy performing in front of a big crowd. The more they cheer, the more I want to do. The highlight of last year was entertaining the Centenary TT crowd. Late summer evening sun and rubber smoke certainly go a long way to create an amazing atmosphere!’ said Dave.

During 2008, he will be taking his Yamahas to display at events such as dealer open days, Isle of Man TT, Cheshire Oaks Motor Festival, Bikewise (Durham), some British Superbike rounds and Santa Pod amongst many other local events.

For those of you who missed Chris Pfeiffer, or ‘CP‘ as he is sometimes called, here are some pics for you to enjoy. Here, he shows Malaysians how a skilled hooligan biker does tricks during an exhibition by BMW Malaysia in Melaka to help promote the BMW Sauber F1 effort at Sepang International Circuit. CP, from Germany, has been riding since he was 5 years old and is 37 now. Sponsored by Red Bull, CP has won tons of stunt championships and rides a BMW F800S.

OK guys this is an oldie (2003?) but it’s very special to me. It inspired me to be the motorcycle hooligan I am today. Just kidding. These stunts are NOT to be attempted by anyone, anywhere at anytime. It’s too dangerous to even consider. I have seen the full video, a couple of years back. Quite entertaining. Stoppies, wheelies, accidents … you name it, they’ve got it. The complete video features well-matched-to-the-visuals music by Disturbed, Screwface, Ill Lojik, Welt, Spiders & Snakes, Sonny Vincent, Turbo A.C.’s, Disengage and Table Top. Sure beats the movie ‘Biker Boyz‘ anytime!
