A very sad, but incredible story. Read all about it by clicking the Daily Mail UK link here.
Isle of Man Tourist Trophy racer and Scania truck mechanic Guy Martin is not only a talented rider, he’s become some sort of a biking world icon. Guy is rather obsessed with mechanical devices and the intricacies of manufacturing. Cut Media thought he’d be the ideal candidate for an Orange Bikes factory documentary.
In the centre of Halifax, Guy takes us on a tour of the manufacturing process, cutting, bending and welding aluminium, forming complex shapes to create a bicycle frame. Hand-built, properly engineered craftsmanship is a black art in today’s norm of sterile outsourced manufacturing. Watch the YouTube video for an entertaining look at something not often seen.
Most of us like to keep our bikes in pristine condition, but how do you do it properly? To help, here’s a great series of videos on how to clean your motorcycle from DrivenandRidden UK.
Check out DrivenandRidden today! They’ve got tons of DVDs which are essential for bike owners.
Launched last month at only RM59,900, the new Ducati Monster powered by a 803cc Desmodromic air-cooled engine with an output of 87-horsepower is capturing the hearts and minds of people who have never even considered a Ducati before.
“I just want to buy it, and learn how to handle a large capacity bike later. What else can I get that’s got the power, the handling, the braking and the looks that can rival an Italian supercar!?” commented Yasser, a marketing head in the Malaysian auto industry.
Malaysian distributor Next Bike Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of the Naza Group of companies has sold an unprecedented 200 units of the Monster within 30 days of launching the model. This is a sharp uplift in sales compared to 2010 when a total of only 120 units were sold.
SYM, a Taiwanese motorcycle company which was formerly a partner of Honda Motor Co. for 41 years (parnership ended in 2002), produces this retro-looking CB125 styled Wolf bike. The engine is a 124cc air-cooled mated to a 4-speed transmission. The Wolf R here looks very nice.
Wish List:
- Alloy wheels
- Peashooter exhaust pipe
- Matt black engine

This is a short film by Benedict Campbell on Kott Motorcycles in Los Angeles, California. Owner Dustin Kott started off with a Honda S90 and now builds British cafe racer inspired bikes from old Honda CB750s. Nice!
Found this on Pipeburn. A GREAT site!
An outlaw motorcycle club (OMC) is usually a sort of subculture with roots in post-WW2 USA. The club members usually ride Harley-Davidsons, and live by a set of ideals celebrating freedom, nonconformity to mainstream culture, and loyalty to the club.
The primary visual identification of a member of an outlaw motorcycle club is the vest adorned with a large club-specific patch or patches, predominantly located in the middle of the back. The patches will contain a club logo, the name of the club, and the letters MC, which stands for ‘Motorcycle Club‘, and a possible state, province, or other chapter identification. This garment and the patches themselves are referred to as the ‘colours’ or ‘cut’ (a term taken from the early practice of cutting the collars and/or sleeves from a denim or leather jacket).
Today, many NON-outlaw motorcycle riding clubs such as Harley Owners Groups also wear patches on the back of their vests, with or without the letters MC.
Club patches usually remain property of the club itself, not the member and only members are allowed to wear the club’s patches. Hang-arounds and/or support clubs wear support patches with the club’s colours. A member must closely guard their colours, for allowing one’s colours to fall into the hands of an outsider is an act of disgrace and may result in loss of membership in a club, or some other punishment.
TRON: Legacy, a sequel we’ve been waiting nearly 30 years for, has finally hit the big screens. In addition to the light cycles shown in the movie posters and used by Sam Flynn, we get a look at Kevin Flynn’s enclosed old-school light cycle.
It’s based on Syd Mead’s original design, but updated and modified to take advantage of today’s processing power.
German concept designer and automotive futurist Daniel Simon, best known for his visionary book Cosmic Motors, worked as vehicle designer on TRON: Legacy.
Italjet, an Italian company founded in 1959 by Leopoldo Tartarini, has been building motorcycles and scooters, first as ItalMZ, using engines sourced from MZ in East Germany until a 50cc Minarelli-powered Cafe Racer made it big and he renamed his company ‘Italjet’.
In 1965 Tartarini produced a twin-cylinder Italjet Grifo 500, powered by a Triumph engine in a frame of his own making. However the word ‘Grifo’ was already taken so he added an -n and the name became ‘Grifon‘. 1967 saw the production of a larger, Triumph Bonneville powered Grifon 650, equipped with Marzocchi forks and Grimeca brakes. 600 units were sold worldwide.
Italjet produced Ducati powered bikes and 125cc Bucaneers, powered by Yamaha. In fact apart from a GP racer, the company has always used outsourced engines from Triumph, Minarelli, MZ, Franco Morini, Yamaha, Piaggio, etc.
In 1999 Italjet displayed a new Grifon 900, powered by a Triumph T300 3-cylinder engine. However, the cost of the bike made it uncompetitive. In 2003 Italjet entered bankruptcy. However, the iconic Italjet Dragster scooter and the Italjet name were acquired by Tartarini’s eldest son, Massimo.

ITALJET GRIFON ‘BAZOOKA’ CONCEPT
The Hyosung GT650 based Grifon 650 shown here was unveiled a year or two back. It’s basically a GT650 fitted with a new tank, seat, wire wheels, brakes, fork and exhaust system. Street-tracker style handlebars are fitted. The ‘Bazooka’ concept Grifon 650 has alloy wheels and clip on handlebars instead, for that ‘Cafe Racer’ look.
Although it does seem a bit superficial, being basically a dress-up kit for a Hyosung GT650, I believe this is a really fantastic bike, though being Korean-based, the visual appeal is very exciting. Sadly, however, financial issues may mean this splendid bike may never see the light of day. I’d REALLY love to have one. If you feel strongly that this bike should be made, as I do, please contact Mr. Steve S. Kang at Hyosung! Tell him you NEED this Italjet Grifon 650!
Here’s a video review by MCN on this fantastic bike!
Would you like to see this in production? If so please write in the comments box below and pass the link for this posting to your friends around the world. I will send this to Italjet!!

QUENTIN TARANTINO PRESENTS: HELL RIDE
Presented by Quentin Tarantino, written and directed by Larry Bishop, Hell Ride is a raucous throwback to the days of the Sergio Leone spaghetti western, with a heaping helping of testosterone-fueled chopper action thrown into the mix, writer/director Larry Bishop takes on a third role as Pistolero, head honcho of the Victors, a group of badass bikers who are out to avenge the murder of one of their members at the hands of the 666ers, a rival gang whose actions live up to their hellish moniker.
Along with his cohorts, the Gent (deviously portrayed by Michael Madsen) and the mysterious Comanche (Eric Balfour), Pistolero aims to take down the Deuce and Billy Wings, menacing leaders of the 666ers, but a mutiny looms on the horizon when his commitment to profit is questioned by a few of his fellow Victors. An even larger story unravels when previously unknown information about Comanche resurrects ghosts from Pistolero’s past.
Hell Ride also stars Michael Beach, Vinnie Jones, Dennis Hopper, David Carradine and Natasha Yi.
